South Elgin High School BP Fair - great event, but required me to leave at 4:45 AM to go to Wal-Mart to get a mirror for the fashion booth. We saw about 350 students, and the most challenging class was the 6th hour (see the wild boys on the bosu balls).....they were out of control!

Week in the life - Tuesday April 20

It's a beautiful day for a Daisy Girl Scout meeting. We made campfire SWAPs for the upcoming camporee (which proved to be more difficult a craft than I thought it would). Then, we went outside to work on our Daisy workbooks. Each girl drew pictures of their favorite animal and took turns reading the story about the first Girl Scout, Juliette Gordon Low. At the end of the meeting, Megan and Taylor did not want to leave (is that a sign of kids having fun or just a post-sugar letdown?)

Week in the Life - Wednesday, April 21

Wednesday morning - lunch of PB&J, Capri Sun, Cheese Stick, Danonino yogurt and baby tomatoes. Library day, so have to return Junie B, First Grader (at last). The garbage cans are still at the end of the driveway, and Garbage day was 3 days ago - for a moment I ponder - should I just leave them out there until next Monday? Shamu somehow finds his way to the driveway, and lays there like a beached whale. I woke up at 4:30, allowing an email to make me angry all night. I took a nice hot bath, then worked on emails for about 2 hours before I responded to Traci at the Park District. Hope I get some more sleep tonight!

Week in the Life - Wednesday

It felt quiet in the house, so I went hunting for Schuyler and found her sitting on her table, singing to herself. Just making up a little song about the weather and singing. Stay creative, girl!

Dinner: lazytime manwich. I made man-dogs, which is manwich in a hot dog bun (yes, we are out of bread). Notice Schuyler's plate - first you see mustard, now you don't...how could I make that mistake? Schuyler and I enjoyed a little picnic dinner on the front porch. The table and chairs are there, because the grass has been trashed right out the door - hazard of having 3 dogs.
Notice the 3 pups at the door waiting to be let outside. Why are they always on the "wrong" side of the door? In, out, in, out.....

Week in the Life Thursday April 22

Any more? This is Beni, cruzing to see if Buddy left any crumbs in his morning breakfast bowl. Sorry, you are out of luck this time...

Week in the Life - Thursday April 22

Good Morning! This is what I found when I opened Schuyler's sock drawer to get out socks for the day. I wonder what her thought process was for putting baby in the drawer. Time out?

Teddy and Schuyler took these pictures Thursday afternoon. Typical afternoon - empty bottles on the porch, dogs running about. The dinner triangle is what we often use to "ring the dogs in." Beni is running with Schuyler's lunch box.

Week in the Life - Thursday April 22

Love those glasses! Schuyler won these glasses and t-shirt because she had 4 orders for magazines to help support her school. Nan, Amber, Blankett, Grandma, and Sandy ordered magazines. She had fun wearing the glasses that night when I watered the baby pine trees and wore the t-shirt to school on Friday.

Week in the Life, Thursday April 22

Thursday Night - with Turn off Your TV Week coming to a close, Schuyler finds herself reading to me, Beni and Bella. I am just so amazed at how well she can read - wasn't she just a baby chewing on board books? She is so smart, bright, and I know she will go far. But for now, good night!

Week in the Life, Friday April 23

Friday afternoon -- with hopes of Schuyler getting a haircut dashed (Peg was sick and had to go home early - which was OK, since Ted had to go home and change cars and they were running late anyway), we went to the Geneva Park District/Radio Disney event that Delnor sponsored. Which was the ending of a long week with Traci from the GPD. I pulled the Teddy Clinic after she complained that we were focusing on Delnor programs and outcomes. Radio Disney was 40 minutes late, so it was chaos with children running around the gym with basketballs. But once they set up, fun was had by all. Schuyler especially loved the Jonas van parked outside, so we stopped to get a few pics.

Week in the Life - Friday, April 23

After a rockin' time at Radio Disney at Geneva Park District, we decided to hop on over to IHOP for a late dinner. They have been open only 5 days, but the service was good and the "breakfast for dinner" even better. I had a spinach and mushroom omelette (with pancakes of course), Schuyler had the Silver 5 (silver dollar cakes, scrambled eggs and bacon), and Teddy had CFS - Chicken Fried Steak (big surprise, right?). Schuyler discovered the joy of strawberry syrup, and played with her new "Hot Locks" doll from Mary.

Week in the Life 2010

Tried a new project this week - Week in the Life....it involved taking pictures every day for a week to document the daily life - right now. It was fun, but challenging - I definitely would have liked to take more pictures. I also saved some things that document our life right now, including a few receipts and other fun stuff. Once Schuyler is done playing Kid Pix, I will start uploading the pictures that attempt to capture this hectic week. I am trying this as an alternative to traditional scrapbooking. I will see how it turns out!
